Do you have concerns about a friend but not sure
what to do? Don't struggle alone. There are people and places you
can turn to for support and guidance.
SMES school psychologists are Dr. Haig
Musurlian and Dr. Valerie Want. Their on-campus office
hours are Monday, 10:00-2:00; Tuesday, 8:00-2:00; Wed, 9:00-3:00;
and Friday, 9:00-3:00. They are also available by page 24 hours/day,
7 days per week for emergencies: 760-966-8981 (Dr. Musurlian)
and 949-489-6810 (Dr. Want).
Peer Counselors are a
hand-picked group of Upper School students (10th-12th grade) who
have been trained in basic psychological theory and technique. They
are available by appointment or at lunch in the Psychologist's
office. They maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and
will not judge or minimize any student's problem.
A
request for help, unless it deals with suicide, homicide, or abuse,
will be kept strictly confidential.
