St. Margaret’s Athletics Earns County Recognition

The Tartan Athletic Department had another extremely successful year. The Boys’ Cross-Country Team secured their second consecutive CIF-SS Championship followed by their second CIF State Championship. Harvard University bound senior, Billy Gaudreau, also won CIF-SS and State Championships this past cross-country season. The Girls’ Tennis Team captured their fourth consecutive CIF-SS Championship and the Girls’ Soccer Team earned their second consecutive title.
The St. Margaret’s Athletic Program is unique because of its breadth of team success. The football team won league for the ninth year in a row and reached the quarterfinals of CIF-SS playoffs. The Girls’ Volleyball Team reached the CIF-SS championship match for the twelfth time in program history.
The Girls’ Basketball Team reached the CIF-SS quarterfinals while the Boys’ Tennis Team reached the semi-finals in their division playoffs. The Baseball Program had the best season in school history losing a heartbreaker in the CIF-SS semi-finals. This spring the Boys’ Track and Field Team finished third in their division.
Because of our success, the Orange County Register acknowledged the St. Margaret’s Athletic Department by naming it the third best athletic program in all of Orange County. Congratulations to all the student athletes and coaches for earning this honor for our school.
