Senior Billy Gaudreau has been nominated for The Orange County Register’s Male Athlete of the year. He was the St. Margaret’s Athlete of the Year in 2010-2011 and was just awarded the same honor at the Spring Sports Awards Banquet on Wednesday. Here are a few of Billy’s accomplishments from this year:

• Cross Country Academy League Champion and the Academy League MVP

• Champion of the Mt. SAC Invitational, which included all divisions. Billy also holds the Division 5 course record.

• CIF Cross Country Champion

• CIF State Division 5 Cross Country Champion and 5k course record holder (15:28).

• Qualified for Foot Locker Nationals in Cross County (only 40 runners in the entire country were invited to race).

• Attended the Brooks PR indoor meet in Seattle where he ran the indoor mile at his personal best of 4:14.

• In March, Billy set the national high school season record for the 3200 with a time of 9:07.62.

• Won the 1600 and 3200 at the Orange County Track Championships

• Named Orange County Athlete of the Meet

• Academy League Player of the Year
