Tartan Swimmers Excel at Final Home Meet
Posted April 22
On Thursday May 19th, the Tartan Swim Team competed against Sage Hill School, at JSerra High School. The female team cruised to a victory over the “Lightning” swimmers. But, in what might be a historic first, the male Tartan team proved victorious as well.
In addition to many personal best swims, two St. Margaret’s swimmers also qualified for CIF on Thursday. Senior Mary Ahearn qualified for two events, the 100-yard Butterfly, and the 50-yard Freestyle. Junior Ashley Torok qualified for the 100-yard Breaststroke.
Since Thursday was the final home meet for the Tartans, the Juniors held a “Senior Appreciation” time after the meet. This event further supports the assertion that the Tartan’s are not only gifted in the water, but are also gifted outside of it in how supportive and caring they are for their teammates.
The Tartans are looking forward to their final Academy League meet on Tuesday April 24th, before entering into league prelims and finals on May 2nd and 4th.
