Minimus and (his) friends are in a small house. The mice long for/desire cheese.
Minimus: amici, scio locum ubi est caseus!
Friends, I know of a place where there is cheese!
mures: amamus caseum! cupimus caseum! ubi est?
We love Cheese! We long for cheese! Where is it?
Minimus: caseus est in silva tecta.
The cheese is in the secret forest.
mures: estne longinqua, quod sumus fessi et caseum cupimus?
Is the cheese far away, because we are tired, and we long for cheese.
Minimus: minime. est vicina…

mures: optimum est! amamus caseum et te, Minime!
Excellent! We love cheese and YOU, Minimus!
(mures amici clamant et currunt) The mice friends shout and run.
Minimus: (audible only to himself) …sed monstrum est in silva vicina!
