About the Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is the foundation of St. Margaret’s fundraising efforts. Participation in this fund at any level demonstrates our community’s belief in the school’s commitment to preparing its students and fulfilling its mission.

Like all other independent schools, tuition at St. Margaret’s doesn’t cover the cost of educating each student. Annual gifts help sustain and balance the school’s operating budget and enhance programs like the arts and athletics, classroom technology improvements and teacher professional development, and tuition assistance programs for those families in need.

In addition, support of the Annual Fund each year also helps St. Margaret’s secure foundation grants to benefit its programs. With thousands of independent schools across the country, there is much competition for foundation support. In determining which institutions are more deserving of their support, foundations often ask for annual fund participation numbers as a measure of an institution’s health — support from our closest friends sends a signal that St. Margaret’s is a good investment.

*In addition to honor roll listing, donors in the leadership levels receive invitations to special private events during the year.
