Programs
ARTS ALLIANCE
This organization channels volunteer and financial support into enriching and expanding visual and performing art programs for the school. These programs stimulate the minds and the imaginations of our children, broaden their cultural horizons, and extend their understanding of the world.
BOOSTER CLUB
The Booster Club supports physical development and athletic programs at St. Margaret's Episcopal School benefiting students from preschool through upper school. The Booster Club sells food, beverages, and snacks at the concession stand and sells a variety of great merchandise at games and other school events. This organization provides the nucleus for parental support and involvement of the many school sport teams and activities.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM
Upon request, the Community Outreach provides the PTF or the school with volunteers to assist with aid and goodwill to the school community. Responsibilities include providing meals, carpooling, or maintaining contact with school families with illnesses or emergencies.
eSCRIP AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS
Everyone shops, and shopping can help your school! Register for eScrip or any one of our Community Partner Programs (Ralphs, Albertsons, or Target) simply by filling out an eScrip form and return it to our school. You may also register by visiting escrip.com and using the St. Margaret's Group ID No. 138054429. Prompts at the eScrip website will walk you through the procedure.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
This program sponsors two annual on-campus events consisting of the Book Fair and the Used Book Sale and has parents volunteer at the SMES Library. The Birthday Book Club, a SMES tradition, offers parents the opportunity to provide funds for a book purchased for the St. Margaret's Library in honor of their child's birthday.
HEALTH AND SAFETY PROGRAM
Red Ribbon Week is a nationally recognized and celebrated event that has become a national symbol of drug prevention. The Health and Safety chair and her committee organize special events to raise student awareness of drug prevention. The committee also supports programs that educate students on health and safety issues.
LUNCH PROGRAM
Parent volunteers work together to ensure that the students at St. Margaret's are offered a healthy, nutritious lunch on a daily basis in a safe, friendly, and clean environment. The variety of volunteers encompasses on-site Lunch Program management, director, and aide positions. Parents volunteer and serve lunch Monday through Friday during the school year.
NEW FAMILIES PROGRAM
What better way to welcome new families then by pairing them with seasoned host families at our school. All year long, host families answer questions and help new families make an easy transition to our school environment and becoming an integral part of our school community.
PARENT EDUCATION PROGRAM
The aim of the Parent Education Program is to help equip parents with the understanding of our children's behavior, peer pressure, and everyday issues. Parent Education Forums throughout the year bring respected speakers on relevant issues to St. Margaret's to facilitate open discussion. In 1999, St. Margaret's Parent Education formed Parents In Action, a parent consortium of seven local independent schools, which presents one nationally acclaimed speaker per year, rotating the location among St. Margaret's, Harbor Day, Pegasus, St. John's Episcopal, Mariners, St. Anne, and St. Mary and All Angels.
