Application Process
Applying to St. Margaret's Episcopal School
There are four key steps to the application process:
- Request a packet. Inquire online or contact the Office of Admission at 949.661.0108 ext. 248 or .
- Schedule a campus tour. If possible, please submit FORM 1 before your campus visit.
- Complete an application for admission.
- Complete the required assessment (see below for more details).

To begin the application process at St. Margaret's, complete FORM 1 and submit the application and assessment fees by January 13,2012. Please choose ONE of the following ways to submit FORM 1:
- Submit FORM 1 online
- Print the PDF of FORM 1 and submit to the Office of Admission. All applications are listed above by division.
- Request the paper application be sent to you in the mail by calling the Office of Admission at 949.661.0108 ext. 248. Fill out FORM 1 and return to the Admission Office.
To complete the remaining application forms:
- Submit FORM 2 online
- Download and print the remaining application forms and submit to the Office of Admission
2012-2013 Deadlines:
Please note applications completed after the deadlines will be reviewed on a space-available basis.
- Upper School Application Deadline: Wednesday, February 1, 2012. All required forms, fees, visits, assessments and interviews must be completed. Applicants need to sit for the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) on December 3, January 7 or February 4.
- Preschool, Lower School, Middle School Application Deadline: February 4, 2012 All required forms, fees, assessments, visits, and interviews must be completed.
Fees

- $75 Assessment Fee (Preschool-Grade 5)
- $95 ISEE Testing Fee (Grade 6-12), paid directly to ISEE
Assessment Information
Standardized assessments are required for all students applying to St. Margaret's; however, assessment results are only one factor of many considered in admission decisions. Click here to download assessment dates.
Preschool 2, 3 and 4 year olds
Applicants to the Early Childhood Development Center Preschool 2 (P2) Program must turn three and be toilet-trained by December 1 of the enrolling year. Applicants to the Preschool 3 Program (P3) must turn three-years-old and be toilet-trained by September 1 of the enrolling year. Applicants to the Preschool 4 Program (P4) must be four years old by September 1 of the enrolling year.
Children applying to P2, P3 and P4 are required to participate in a developmental screening and a playgroup observation session. Please know that children beginning in our P2 program will spend 3 years in the Preschool.
After submitting FORM 1 and the required fee , please call the Office of Admission to schedule an assessment for your child.
Kindergarten
Children applying to Kindergarten are required to participate in both a developmental screening and a playgroup observation session. After submitting FORM 1 and the required fee , please call the Office of Admission to schedule an assessment for your child.
Grade 1 through Grade 5
Standardized assessments are given on the St. Margaret's campus for all 1st through 5th grade applicants. Applicants will also participate in a class visit. After submitting FORM 1 and the required fee , please call the Office of Admission to schedule an assessment and class visit for your child.
Grades 6 through 12 Students applying to Grades 6 through 12 sit for the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) and participate in a Class Visitation Day and interview. The ISEE test is given on the St. Margaret's campus on December 3, 2011, January 7, 2012 and February 4, 2012. Applicants must register three weeks in advance of the test date by completing the registration form or on-line at www.iseetest.org. The assessment fee of $95 is paid directly to ISEE / Educational Records Bureau. Please request that test results be sent directly to St. Margaret's Episcopal School (school code 054114) during the registration process.
After submitting FORM 1 and the application fee, please call the Office of Admission to schedule a Class Visitation Day.
