Our Upper
School students have the opportunity to take a year long course
in Studio Art with Mrs. Nelson. This course is UC approved and
meets the fine art graduation requirement. A large variety of
media and methods are explored while students learn about visual
organization and basic art concepts. Creativity,
self-expression, and skill development are stressed.
Students are
able to continue in Studio Art each year and eventually take an
advanced Placement Studio Art course in Drawing or Design during
their junior or senior year. The AP course is year long and
culminates in a specific area of concentration that results in a
series of related art works. Concept development and a concern
for quality are basic goals of this course.
