Students at St. Margaret’s are exposed to cultural heritage and art history as they view and learn about various artists and styles of art.  This most often takes place as they relate to the projects that they are working on in their studio classes in the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools.

Advanced Placement Art History is offered in the Upper School and is recommended for Juniors and Seniors.  This course meets both graduation and UC requirements.   This year long course is an intensive college level survey of the history of art form pre-history to present times.  Students learn to understand and enjoy works of art within their historical and cultural context.  Writing about art is an important aspect of the class.
