[These are questions that were sent to the Help Line and have been reprinted with permission.]

Q: Every now and then I get messages that someone or another has deleted a message I sent without reading it, when I know in fact the person DID read the message, because they sent a reply! What's up with that? Just curious.

A: Good question. If a person has activated the Outlook preview panel (this is where the inbox is divided into two halves. The top half is the actual inbox and the bottom half previews the content of the highlighted piece of mail), then the reader can actually read mail without having opening it, and then delete it when finished.

Q: I'm trying to send an invitation I made in PrintShop through an e-mail. Is that possible?

A: Unless you know that your recipients have the actual software and, in some cases, the correct version (in this case, PrintShop Premiere), it's probably best to copy and paste your invitation onto a software most people will have like MS Word. Otherwise, the recipient will not be able to view your attachment.

Q: When I clicked on a link in an email, I got a run time error. Is there anything I can do about this?

A: The run time error can be eliminated by doing this:  While in Internet Explorer, click on Tools> Internet Options> Advanced, and then make sure that "Disable Script Debugging" is checked.  That removes those runtime error messages. By the way, the run time error does not occur just with email, it happens also when you click on a link to go from one web page to another.

When printing web pages, is it irritating to see all that header and footer information that's included on each page, e.g., the web address, title, etc?  You can fix that. Internet Explorer allows you to adjust this irrelevant information right out of there, or customize it depending upon your needs.  This web site takes you step by step through this process:

More advanced computer users take pride in weaning themselves from using the mouse, depending instead upon keyboard shortcuts to help them accomplish their task. Trying to memorize shortcuts, like anything new, take a little bit of time and may seem more difficult than its worth in the beginning, but you may be surprised at how much easier it is to use. Here is a list of shortcuts for multiple programs including Excel, Word, Internet and FrontPage. Print it out and post it near your monitor for easy viewing.                    http://www.computerhope.com/shortcut.htm#3
