Training Opportunities

  There will be no classes offered this month. If you have specific software questions or concerns, please contact Londa  at londa.posvistak@smes.org.

Reminder: Planning to Spend Your Tech $'s

It's April. How many Tech Bucks have you earned so far? We have individuals on campus who've been training with Londa on a regular basis, and they've amassed an impressive number of hours (and bucks). You earn tech bucks for technology training whether you train with Londa or learn on your own.  Prizes will be available for purchase with the tech bucks at the end of the year. They are non-transferable. Whether you're a beginner, novice, or advanced user, you should aim for approximately 20 hours of professional development hours in technology each year. See "Surfing the Web" below for a great teacher (and staff) website that offers easy-to-follow tutorials, templates, etc. You can access this site anytime you have a few minutes. And remember to contact Londa in order to get your tech bucks!

Tech Tips

Q: I never sent this particular e-mail message. Who is this person and why did I get an undeliverable e-mail back???

A: Many e-mails are sent to multiple recipients. If you used the “reply to all” feature in an email that you received – and one of the email addresses was wrong - you would receive an email back with the message about it being undeliverable.

Education World: An Online Resource for Educators

Looking for more classroom templates (awards, language arts, graphic organizers, etc.), easy-to-follow tutorials; a site where you can "chat" with other educators about ways to integrate technology in your classrooms; etc.? Education world is a great resource, not only for educators but also for those who work in a school setting. In particular, the tutorials are really easy to follow and can be printed out. Here's what you can expect:

  • a search engine for educational Web sites only, a place where educators can find information without searching the entire Internet;
  • original content, including lesson plans, practical information for educators, information on how to integrate technology in the classroom, and articles written by education experts;
  • site reviews;
  • daily features and columns;
  • teacher and principal profiles;
  • Wire Side Chats with the important names in education;
  • employment listings.

Education World's goal is to make it easy for educators to integrate the Internet into the classroom. Our April website recommendation!
