Overview and Objectives.
The Orchestra Program at St. Margaret's Episcopal School encompasses five different ensembles for grades 4-12, separated by division including:
- 4th Grade (Lower School) Beginning Orchestra
- 5th Grade (Lower School) String Orchestra
- Middle School Symphony Orchestra (6-8)
- Upper School Chamber Orchestra (9-12)
- Upper School Classical Guitar Ensemble (9-12)
From time to time, we also offer an Orchestra Workshop for grades four through nine during the summer.

In addition to the regularly scheduled Christmas Instrumental Concert and Spring Instrumental Concert for all orchestra program ensembles, the following additional performance opportunities are available:
- LS Orchestra students of sufficient ability level have the option to perform for the Lessons and Carols Christmas Service Orchestra in December, as well as Grandparents and Special Friends Day in May.
- MS and US students may perform in the Musical Theatre Orchestra which performs for the Middle and Upper School drama productions year year. Starting in 2009-2010 instrumental music students receive course credit for full participation in each show's orchestra (pass/no-pass), which shows up on their transcript with comments from their respective director.
- All MS/US students are given the opportunity to present special music for school chapel services, which currently take place every Thursday.
