Did You Know?

The sun is about 400 times larger than the moon, but the moon is about 400 times closer to the Earth than the sun, so they appear to be the same size.  That’s why we have solar eclipses, times when the sun and the moon are in the right place in space so that the moon seems to block out the sun.  Check out Eclipses of the Sun and Moon to see when the next eclipse is visible in your area.
