Jesus and the Gospels

First Draft Due ...(Not yet assigned)

The homily must be 4 (or more) pages double spaced with 1" margins. This is equal to approximately 4 minutes when spoken.

Here are some ideas to help you to write your homily.

  • A homily is a brief sermon which relates a scripture passage to modern life.  It brings scripture to life and helps to illuminate it.
  • Use "spoken" English – good grammar, flexible punctuation.
  • Using your exegesis – which means already you’ve completed the bulk of your preparation – write a homily that relates the passage or parts of the passage to the everyday life and issues facing your peers.

Below are some sample outline ideas.
