Chemical Names and Formulas: “Putting Names with Faces”

Unit 4 Exercise                                                                                                 NAME:_________________________

Objective:  The purpose of this exercise is to practice naming compounds from formulas and writing formulas from names.

Procedure:  Visit various different stations around the classroom.  There are 15 stations, three at each side of the lab benches and one in the hood.  At each lab bench station examine the compound and the name or formula.  Give the missing information for each chemical.  For example, if the name is given, give the formula.  If the formula is given write the name.  For the samples in the hood.  DO NOT TOUCH.  Look with your eyes and give the information.
