Parents of prospective students are invited to call the
Admission Office to arrange for a tour of the school. Procedures for prospective students
include the completion of an application form (a photograph of the applicant is helpful)
and a $50 application fee. In addition to the formal application, the following
information is needed to complete the file for evaluation.

Preschool candidates are screened by
the Director of the Early Childhood Development Center. Admission will continue where
there is space available.
Lower School (kindergarten
through fifth grade) applicants provide a teacher recommendation form. Depending on the
grade level, Lower School applicants will be interviewed, evaluated, and/or tested.
Kindergarten students will participate in a developmental screening on
Saturday, January 21, 2006, with qualified students invited to campus on a Saturday morning for
play activity. First and second grade evaluations are done by individual appointment.
These evaluations take about one hour and are scheduled weekday mornings during the winter
months. Applicants to third and fourth grades are required to take the ERB (Educational
Records Bureau) entrance examination on Saturday, January 21, 2006 and
February 26, 2006. Applicants to fifth grade take the Independent School
Entrance Examination (ISEE) on one of the scheduled Saturdays listed in the ISEE student
guide (or see below).

Middle School (sixth through eighth
grade) applicants take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) on one of the
scheduled Saturdays listed in the ISEE student guide (or see below).

Middle School applicant are recommendations from current teachers (envelopes addressed to
St. Margarets Episcopal School will allow teachers to mail information directly to
our school), a transcript from the applicants current school, a completed student
questionnaire, and a school visit and interview.

Upper School (ninth through twelfth grade)
candidates complete the student questionnaire and take the ISEE test for the appropriate

transcript from the current school, and an interview.

A copy of current immunization records signed by a physician must be included in all
applicants files.
The majority of admission decisions are made in the late
spring for the following September. However, admission will continue throughout the spring
and summer months where there are available spaces. No admission decision will be made by
the school until all required materials are on file and the testing procedure is complete.
TEST DATES:
To be considered for the first round of acceptances, you
will need to schedule tests in either January or February.
Grades 3 - 4 ERB Testing: January 21 and February 26,
2006.

Testing: Applicants may
register for the ISEE (given on January 21, February 26,
2006 at
St. Margaret’s) by filling out the registration form in the ISEE Student
Guide. There is a $73 registration fee for this exam.
