Periods:
All circulating books may be
checked out for three weeks, unless a teacher or class
assignment requires that the material be placed on Reserve
(for use in library only). Periodicals, Reference Books,
Videos, etc. may not be checked out to students. If
needed, a copy machine is available for ten cents a copy.
Rules:
(1) A student
may not check-out books if he/she has any overdue materials
outstanding.
(2) After three
notices, all overdue materials must be returned to the library
or the items will be billed to the student's account and a fine of $5.00 per item will be
incurred.
(3) For Middle and
Upper School students there is a limit of three books per
topic that may be checked out depending on the assignment.
(4) Due to limited
seating, those students needing library materials will have
first
priority.
(5) A student may be
requested to leave the library if he/she abuses the privilege
of using it.
(6)
Students must have a pass from their subject teacher if
visiting the library during class time. Study hall
students will be required to sign in. Lower school
students must have a pass from their teacher to use the
library during breaks or
lunch.
(7) All students
fourth grade or younger must be supervised by an adult when
using the library after 3:00 p.m. Fifth grade students
must be supervised by an adult or get a pass from the Lower
School office to use the library after 3:00 p.m.
Resource Room: The SMES Library Resource Room is open
for use by students if it is not being used by a class.

this room, please fill out a request form on the Lab
Schedule Page.
